Firm Overview:
Years ago, Michael had the opportunity to work along side a person, "Andrew", who had won the lottery 17 years earlier. One day this co-worker turned to Michael and said “Mike, I am about to get my seventeenth payment from the lottery commission. I will have only three more checks coming to me, and right now I have almost nothing to show for any of it”.
Michael lost touch with Andrew for about 20 years. Recently, Michael tried to re-establish contact with him, but what Michael found out from others about the outcome for Andrew was heartbreaking.
That experience had a substantial impact on Michael. It illustrated for him just how important it is to establish long-term plans and to measure one’s progress toward those goals along the way. Whether you are in retirement, growing a business, or even collecting lottery winnings, taking the time to develop a thoughtful wealth forecast can make a remarkable difference in your likelihood to succeed. It is with that philosophy in mind that Michael works with his retirement and pre-retirement clients.
He especially enjoys his focus area of working with professional advisors, (especially accountants, attorneys, and M&A intermediaries), and their clients who have suddenly acquired responsibility for a significant lump sum. The source of the financial responsibility might be the sale of a business, the loss of a spouse, an inheritance, a legal award or even winning a lottery. Regardless of the source of the money, the goal is to create and implement a long-term plan that meets the financial needs of the clients today and beyond, while incorporating their wishes regarding their children, philanthropic interests and their communities.
A Connecticut native, Michael now lives with his wife Amanda and their three children in Elverson, Pennsylvania in a stone house built in 1833. Some of his favorite joys are golfing, flying his Cessna aircraft, and most of all, spending time in a variety of activities with his energetic family.
