Scott Vance is a Fee-Only financial planner serving the greater Raleigh, NC area. He started the firm Trisuli Financial Advising soon after retiring from the Army. He picked the name Trisuli from his experience working in the nation of Nepal at the US Embassy. The name Trisuli refers to a popular river in Nepal. The Trisuli river is a destination for travelers to spend time on the river enjoying paddling, fishing, and other activities. The river is a key source of income and integral part of the culture of the surrounding Nepalese population.
Scott's background allows him to closely understand the issues faced by our military personnel but he works with clients from all walks of life. His desire is to continue his service to individuals in need of financial advice. Throughout his career he has worked with soldiers who needed financial advice on an informal basis sparking his desire to become a financial planner. He is currently a candidate for CFP® certification, and seeks to provide objective, commission free advice to clients, not products.
Scott was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He has lived in a large number of US States as would be expected from a military member. He is married to Amy Douglass, also from Pennsylvania. Together they have a son, Brandon. As a family they love to ski in the winter and go kayaking and biking in the summer. In his spare time Scott enjoys refereeing soccer and wrestling and coaching Brandon in soccer.
