Jim became a CPA in 1972 after serving America in the Navy. He started a CPA practice in 1978. By 1986, he had become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. As his business grew, his clients soon began asking him all manner of financial questions. In response, Jim leapt "ahead of the curve" in his profession - in 1988, he became one of the first CPAs to receive the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation.
Jim is truly family-oriented. He grew up in Nebraska, the oldest of 11 children and the third oldest of 115 grandchildren. Today, Jim and his wife Sheri are parents to 7 children and 4 grandchildren of their own.
In his free time, Jim loves swing dancing, snowboarding and scuba diving and he and Sheri are both involved in church activities.
